Day 3: Grateful; Hunkering Down in Davenport Iowa -820 miles under my belt.

Right now I’m sitting at a McDonald’s in Davenport Iowa having an iced tea and thinking about how mysterious life is, especially when you throw yourself to the winds of fate, cut yourself loose from timetables and expectations. Just trust, take chances and let go. That’s what happened to me in Peoria, off all places! I had an amazing, magical time with a friend. There’s a line from the poet Rilke in which he says: “… our feelings grow mute in shy perplexity.” That’s how I feel. Mysteries abound. I really don’t know where I’m heading for tonight (or in general!) but I’m feeling very happy and grateful. It’s a great way to ride; to be. May you ride that way as well.
